Default Had to take the Christmas lights down....

.....in my shop where I cast bullets. Found out in today's news the cords contain lead and handling them could leave lead residue on your hands! They recommended wearing gloves when handling Christmas lights, and be sure to keep them high enough a child can't touch them.

Sorry for the rant, but I get sick of hearing the lead poisioning, global warming, anti-gun, news media scare tactics they throw at the public every day. [:@]

I'm not saying lead poisioning isn't a health threat, but some common-sense measures like not breathing the fumes off the lead pot, washing hands when finished casting, and having some fresh air venting through the shop when casting has kept me alive & healthy so far.
I've been casting bullets for many years, I'm a plumber and have soldered thousands of copper pipe joints with the old 50/50 lead-tin solder in past years. Even handled a few lead roof flashings, and lead (cast iron) pipe join caulkings over the years. So far some basic common-sense preventative measures like simply washing my hands after handling lead has seemed to work.

Don't know about that wabi. I've got a doe in the freezer that was exposed to lead only once, and it killed her. Maybe it has something to do with stationary lead vs. lead in motion.

The biggest problem with lead, it never leaves your body. It just keeps building up.... I am a 3rd generation house painter, Only two of us are have not had a lead caused illness. Three have died from it.

I've been exposed to lead for over 30 years, and have shown no signs of lead issues, but everyone reacts different. All of my issues are from doing things I shouldn't have been doing to begin with

The world "news" is not good news, simple as that and the strategy of Satan is to kill, destroy and steal. The media are a huge part of the "fear movement", why does it say in the Scriptures "fear not" and there will "be wars and rumors of wars."

Wabi, I am in 100% agreement on your rant/rave! PREACH ON BROTHER! Has this nation gone to total scare tatics? The overall population seems to have gone brain DEAD! They almost need the media to tell them when to go to the rest room! Maybe we should go back to corn cobbs and husk to wipe our behinds, I am sure the bleach in the toliet tissue we use must be causing some sort of colon cancer or some type rectial disorders!!

"I had to take the Christmas lights down in the shop where I cast (lead) bullets" because there (might) be lead on the cords... (?)
What's wrong with this picture??

Put the lights back up and wear gloves, Wabi.
