Default Second ML Hunt

I was in my ladder stand early dark thirty, got strapped in & all my equipment pulled up. It got light, nothing stirred other than the birds and geese flying overhead. Its just abit after 8 am and i see a nanny running towards me thru the willow slough bottom. She passes never stopping to offer a shot! About 20 min. later i see another nanny running from same area as the last one. Belly to the ground and hooves digging, mud flying as she goes by me! Then she stops just before going up the hill into the hardwoods. I have the xhair on her right shoulder and squeeze the trigger. The smoke from my shot covers the deer from my sight. When it clears nothing nada zilch do i see in that area. I study all of the hillside as i reload my Blk.Dia., i am using 70 grs. of Pyro P under 240gr Speer JSP Gold Dot. I lower all of my stuff down and untie it, slowly walk over to where i had shot. I see tore up dirt from shot, so i look hard and find hair thats been cut from the bullet. I am still looking and on a log i see large area of blood, log is about 15 yds. from me. As i start that way i pick up the blood trail and follow it roughly 40 yds. There she is expired, she has taken her final dirt nap! As always i give praise for my blessing. I field dress her and drag her up the hill. Walk home to get my 3 wheeler to bring her home.

Congratulations with the Black Diamond ... they are good rifles. It sounds like you did everything right. Deer are just hard to stop sometimes. Way to go.
