Possibly the load is too much! Start off abit lighter 75 grs. Well i see you are using pellets, maybe cut one in half?

Go to a Wal Mart and get some 300 grain XTP's or 300 grain Shockwaves and try them with your two pellet load. Be sure to swab the barrel properly between shots when shooting. I don't have an Optima but I have a Staghorn Magnum that loves 300 grain bullets. Perhaps yours will be similar.

Also make sure all the rings are good and tight on your scope.

Are you swabbing between shots with the powerbelts? Its strange that the rifle would not group them well.

Good luck with the upcoming hunt.

80 grains triple 7 will do. No more than that. I find that with 100 grains, the base of the plastic skirt breaks away from the main side skirt and stays attached to the bullet and throws it off. 80 grains of powder will also perform best when its hit your deer.

I have a CVA Optima and it likes anywhere from 90 - 100g of 777 FFg pushing a 300g hornady xtp. I use harvester crushed sabot. I would suggest starting at 90g and see how it groups then go from there.

By the way, 2 pellets of 777 would be close to 90g of loose anyway.
