Default 1st BP deer of the year

I didn't have any luck during BP season. I kept passing on doe's, hoping the big boy was following them. Next thing you know the BP season is over, and it's time to put a rifle in your hands. This morning I was invited to go hunting in a VA county that only allows archery, BP and shot guns to hunt for deer. My best friend and I were the only hunters on a 300 acrepiece of ground. It's actually a golf course. Our own little private game preserve. There are so many deer and turkey on this property that have never been hunted. The only things they would have to worry abouot is a stray Pro V1 . On numerous occassions wecould get within 20 to 50 yards of the deer. The deer would just look at us, like we were carrying funny looking golf clubs. I was able to harvest a large doe at 7:30 am. She and her sister stood broadside, for all of a minute just looking at us, before Isent a shot from my 50 cal Encore. It felt great to harvest a deer with my BP Encore. If it wasn't forthe 25 mph winds, I was hoping to stick around afterwards in get in 18 holes. Instead I made it to work by 9:30 am.

This is a par 4 on the course. None of the hole run adjacent to one another. So there is either woods, water, thickets or scrub brush fieldslineing all theplush fairways, greens and tee boxes. If we only had a couple of foods plots.
