Default Good deal?

I am considering the purchase of a T/C Encore 209x50 in stainless with a synthetic stock. A guy I know has one for sale because he is unhappy with the accuracy of the gun. He wants $375.00 for the gun with a Simmons 2.5x7 shotgun scope on it. I think the accuracy could be user error and I probably can work it out after reading different posts on the internet. Is this a good price for the gun? I have never researched it and just thought I might try my hand at muzzle loading if I can get into it for not a boat load of cash. Thanks.

Assuming it is operator error, that's a good price for an encore, and the scope increases the value as well.

That is a very good price for all of that. I think you are right, that it is operator error for the lack of accuracy...

Buy it, if you can't get it to shoot accurately send it back to TC and they will replace the barrel. Chap Gleason

Kinda hard to go wrong, in that case.

I would buy it too! Probably just need to work out the right load for it... all ML's are different, as in they like different powder / bullet weights, types, and combinations. It is not unheard ofthe same brand and model of ML's will like different combinations.

If you don't purchase the Encore I would like to. Please forward my e-mail to the guy that has it if you don't want it. Thanks so much. Mike

Took the gun to the range this weekend. Started out with 100 grains pyrodex (2 pellets) using the TC Shockwave 300 grain sabot bullet. First 3 shots at 25 yards went through the same hole. Moved back to 50 yards and had the same results. The only thing I can figure is the guy I bought it from didn't clean it well or was using different bullets that the barrel didn't like. Either way, I got one hell of a deal for $375.00. Thanks for all the help. The loading and shooting advice from this board has been invaluable.

Man, thats a tough break. 3 shots and only one hit the target[:@], I think you need to send me the gun and I will take care of it for you. lol.

All kidding aside sounds like you got a winner there. Good luck with it.
