Default Budget inline advice

Heres my situation. In Illinois our BP season is just a couple of days and are firearm season is 7 days total. I need an inline thatis reliable an accurate. I'd think it wouldmake more sense to get a mid priced or lower inline as opposed to some ofthe high dollar guns. Where is a good place to start? Is CVA better then Traditions?

To be reliably accurate takes a certain amount of quality, I would suggest an Omega Z5 from one of the Walmarts where they are on sale this time of year. And no the cva is not better than the traditions, and I believe the Lyman better than either. Lee

if your not worried about if it is new or used, check local gun shops and pawn shops, sometimes you can find really good deals on used and they maybe able to work out good deals on new ones as well.

Yes CVA is better than traditions. Their inlines have better quality barrels, better customer service and a better inline rifle overall. Semisane owned a Lyman Mustang and he wasnt to happy with it. Im sure he'll fill you in on it.

And starting off with a less expensive gun is the right idea. To be honest, ive seen lower priced muzzleloaders shoot the rearend out of the high priced muzzleloaders.

For just someone that wants an inline rifle to hunt a few days out of the year.. get a CVA Buckhorn Magnum. It will do all the shooting you would need. Wal Mart was selling them for $99.95 and they are easy to take care of and shoot. You can get three different kinds of ignitions for them, they are open breech action, very safe to handle, can be mounted with a scope, and would be all you would need.

If you want to spend some money, then look at the Omega, Knight Rolling Block, H&R Sidekick, or some of the better line of CVA rifles. All of them will do the same thing that the Buckhorn Magnum will do.

cayugad, I dont know where he is but the Walmarts are clearing stock here again this year, they are marking down a thumb hole stock Omega [yes Iknow I dont really need 16 much less 17] But the one I picked up 2 years ago at the walmart sale for 150 is not a thumb holer. If you can get the best for a compareable price, why not. Lee

Catch them on sale...I bought my Knight Disc several years ago when they went from 22 to 24 inch barrels....

I just can't buy a cheap muzzleloader or tree stand, think about it, you are making a pipe bomb every time you shoot the thing......

I'd look for a used White and be done with it.
