Default Encore Pin movement ??

Is it ok to have"ANY" movement between the barrel and the reciever ??
Iinstalleda new two peace locking pin, before i ever shot it.But there is still play , but VERY little. There is more movement when the gun is closed than when open!!Is this a problem ?? Do your guns do this .

Default RE: Encore Pin movement ??

UtahRob,

I have had my Encore for almost a year and haven't had any problems with the stock pin supplied with my rifle. It is very tight and I have to hammer it out to remove it...using the push pin that T/C sells won't come close to pushing it out. I guess I just got one of the tight ones, but I would think you would want to have as little movement as possible to ensure the best accuracy from your rifle. With that being said...is the new locking pin system signaficantly better than the one supplied with the rifle?Hopefully others will chime in with what their experiences have been. Good luck...

Default RE: Encore Pin movement ??

Ive spent the last couple days researching this problem cause Im looking into getting an Encore. It appears to be a hit and miss problem, some have solved it with the locking pin, others with the oversized pin that requires some milling and then theres those that have no problem at all. Is your gun shooting decent groups?

I think each gun is different
my uncle and i bought our encores at
the same time, my pin has to be hammerd out
like AZBear's but my uncles will damn near fall out
after installing the locking pin and your still having
problems id call T/C and see what they have to
say about it, could'nt hurt

Yes it will be a big problem. Send it back to TC and have them either fix it or replace the rifle. That issue has popped up quite a bit on a lot of forums. I'd call TC tomorrow and ask about it.

Well after opening and closing my encore a few times the play is back . after taking the gun apart and putting the pin in the barrel and trying it in the receiver , there seems to be the most play in the receiver . I just sent a e-mail to TC describing the problem. I will let you know what they say.

Ship it back and get it fixed. My rifle is years old and has no play at all. Loose after lockup is more than the pin.
