Default MidSouth Sabots--which ones are thinner?

MidSouth sells two MMP sabots - regular? and high velocity. Are either of these the HPH-24? I have a CVA with one of the tight new barrels. I was planning on ordering some Gold Dot 300's and a couple of different sabots from MidSouth. Probably the Crush Ribs and one other. They also sell the Knight orange EZ loads. Are any of the other sabots they sell on the thinner side?

Possbly not... the regular sabot is the old fashioned plastic sabot and it is a thicker sabot like the HPH-12

The high velocity sabot is the new "polymere" sabot - it is a HPH sabot but it could be a 12 or a 24...

MMP also makes a thinner sabot called a HPH-3p-EZ load sabot that is slightly thinner than the HPH-24

Check this site out...

www.mmpsabots.com

If you call you can order direct -the price Connie will quote you includes shipping... You might get a package of both 24's and 3p's just to make sure you are covered...

Another route would be the Harvester route... Harvester makes 2 regular sabots - comparable to the thickness of the 24 - they come in short and long petals.... I would get the short petal if you are shooting 250 grain bullets and under and long petal if you are shooting 300 grain bullets...

They are also making their thin variety called a "crush rib"

The Crushed Rib and the E-Z load are thinner.I use the Crushed Rib in my tight barrel rifles. As for the MMP you better check with Sabotloader. He is the MMP expert around here.

I just wish MidSouth would give you the manufacturer's model no. They also have TCMag Express which I believe are HPH-24's, right? Kind of a medium thickness?

I should have added that... TC Mag Express sabots are MMP HPH-24's as are Nosler sabots...

also Hornady is now selling a new "Low Drag" sabots (red in color) but I am pretty sure they are HPH-3p-EZ loads in red instead of black...

yes they are...

When you get them if they are to thick for your CVA - let me know I'll send you a few 3p's to try...

I really do believe the 24's will work but have not fooled around with a new CVA lately... but they can not be any tighter than a new Omega...

Thanks, Sabotloader. Are these Harverster's the same as HPH-24, too?

No the harvesters are not made by MMP they are company all their own, but they and the 24 a very close in thickness, so usually where you can use one you can use the other...

http://www.harvesterbullets.com/

The ones you have marked are for the 300 grain + bullets.... there is also a short petal for 260/270 and under...
