Recovered "Cheap Shot" bullet pics

Hi everyone,

My apologies for the mediocre quality of the pics... and for now knowing how to post them directly.

I recovered this from a whitetail buck (~180 lbs live)I killed a couple days ago. The shot was quartering-to, from nine yards. Went through the shoulder & came to rest against the hide a few inches in front of the opposite hindquarter. Traveled approximately 1/2 the deer's length.

I know that there are plenty of bullets out there that perform quite well; this isn't meant as a "this is the best bullet ever &everything else stinks"kind of post. Just wanted to show that this relatively low-cost (hence the name) projectile is at least worthy of consideration if you'retrying to develop an effective,accurate load for deer-size game.

Of course from 9 steps, all the fretting about1-inch vs. 3-inch 100 yard groups seems like a bit of overkill

I like the expansion, like 2.5x the size fo the bullet. I like the no fragmentation. I love the price. Nice job. Chap Gleason

That bullet did a very good job and mushroomed perfectly.Will give the Cheap Shots a try on hogs.

What was your powder charge?

The load was: 240 grain T/C Cheap Shot, 100 grains loose Pyrodex RS. These were stuffed down the 26" barrel of an NEF Sidekick (I'm starting to love that little gun, sweetest trigger I've ever pulled) & lit by a Winchester T7 primer.

The Cheap Shots are advertised as shooting the same as the 240 grain XTP, and this proved true in my smokepole. Both found their sweet spot at 100 grains loose Pyrodex RS, and for whatever reason, both were more consistent with the T7 primer than with the standard Winchester 209.

I was getting great groups with the Cheap Shots with 130gr RS. I might have to give them a try on game now.

Wow, that's beautiful! I just love all lead bullets. I put another one down this year with my precision rifle 220 grainer over 80 grains of 777. Keep up the good work!
