Can't find the Z5 anywhere. Is it the same as a regular omega?
The Z5 is an Omega. They are just an Omega barrel, action, and trigger, with a different quality stock and sights I believe. Check your local Wal Mart. They usually carry them. There are tons of on line sights that have them. I have not checked prices on the on line stores, but I think my local Wal Mart was selling an Omega with a starter kit for around $269.00.

If you have a Sheels near by you can try there. I traded an old Browning Citori in and they gave me 600 buck for it! I only paid 700 for it 9 years ago.

I believe that the Z5 was originally made for walmart, and that they sell a very high percent of them but I have seen them on sale by some of the big internet suppliers. The time of year is almost right for the end of hunting season sales at walmart, I know I have my eye on the local ones, they have an over supply of powder this year and if it gets down to $8 a can I will buy them out they also have a large pile of SW's especally the 200 gr which I would like to relieve them of at what I consider a reasonable price.
Any way I got my Omega for 150 at a year end sale 2 years a go so look sharp. Lee
I bought mine at Bass Pro in Memphis two+ years ago and love it. The Z-5 is Thompson's attempt to cover the lower end of the ML market. The gun comes in only onestyle - black synthetic stock with blued barrel. Since I took the iron sights off I didn't care if theywere cheap or not. The gun shoots great with a number of loads - currently I am using 115 gr of loose 777 with 300gr Speer gold dots.

Definitely keep a eye on your local WalMart.
Two years ago i bought my boys , a TC omega .50 Z5 $109.00 and a Optima .50 nickle $ 79.00. at End of hunting season close out . A friend of mine who worked in the sporting good department bought 4 Tradition .50 Pursuit XLT ,nickle barrels with Camo stocks for 80.00 each . I just loaded up on powder at 5.00 for a lb of pyrodex . I got a ton of TC accessories for .25 - 1.00 each . They started dropping the prices this year before the Elk Muzzle loader season even started.
I bought mine at WalMart for $297 + tax. It came with a few bullets and the depriming tool. I'm now using the VariFlame adapter with it and they can pulled out with your fingers most of the time. Good Luck..Hope you find one.
