Default Way to go barnes!

I started shooting Barnes expanders this year and I have to say I think they are the best ML bullet out there. My current load is a Winchester x-150 .45 cal., 100 grains of hodgdon pyrodex, 195 gr. Barnes Expander, Bushnell Trophy 1.75-4 scope and winchester t7 primers. This load shoots under an inch at 100 yards. I shot 2 deer so far this year with that load. The first one was 130 yards. It was an off hand shot and I hit it in the spine and dropped her like a rock. There was a ton of blood. The entrance hole was .40 cal and the exit was quarter sized. The second deer was 110 yards away. Perfect double lung shot; the deer ran 40 yards and I watched her fall. Again small .40 cal entrance and a quarter sized exit hole. Even though I watched her fall I followed a excelent blood trail. I also have recovered 5 bullets from various expansion test and they all are perfect mushrooms. Way to go Barnes!

Barnes are great bullets. Congratulations on the two deer.

The Barnes bullet's are shooting great in my Knight Long Range Hunter. The problem is that I had to take out a loan to buy them. Tom.

Glad to hear they work good, I'm using them this year too. Either the 250 or 300gr Expander MZ's.
