Ok. I know I was just on here looking for advice on what to do with my wolf, which I'm taking to the range wednesday, but I'm thinking for next year I'm going to get a .54 cal or 58 cal. Why you ask. Simple. I've always wanted one. I've been looking around and haven't seen any inlines in .54 cal. Are they all percussion cap and flint lock? I might be willing to try a flintlock, never had one of those. If I get a purcussion or flintlock, I'll probably buy a kit so that I can build it my self. Give me something to do this summer and spring. So any suggestions on models to look at for a .54 cal inline or just any kit chambered in .54 or .58 let me know.
Lyman makes kits in .54 caliber in both percussion and flintlock. They are an excellent rifle.

There are Renagades and Hawkens available,54 is in my opinion the beast PRB cal for several reasons including the fact that the 58 which is the only one that might give it some compition has the wrong twist to load it heavy enough to get a reasonable trajectory and even if it had the right twist it would kick you into next week if you put half the ball weight in powder in it.
There are a few good inlines available in 54 I have a System One with a 54 barrel, it shoots a 50 calwidner bullet with a MMP purple sabot and 140 gr RS and isvery accurate.Lee
Would love to get em both, but just spent $1100 on guns for CAS and the little woman is pissed as it is. So that may take some working up to. I was checkin out some of the sights mentioned above. Nice lookin 54 inlines. Hope their a common occurrance. If I remember correctly they used to make a .58 hawken kit. Anyone know anything about that? I figure I'llpace myself and buy then so she doesn't notice
