Default long range hunter barrel

i had the stock off my LRH getting it cleaned up. haven't shot it yet. i noticed that on the bottomn of the barrel it said that it was made by E.R. Shaw. i thought it was made by green mountain barrel co. does anybody know anything about this?
also, in bore of the barrel was dirty, real dirty. i don't know if it was shot at the factory or what but man, the patches came out black. i have never shot the gun, it is brand new. i scrubbed for 2 hours trying to get a clean patch. i used black powder solvent, powder blast, cr 10, sweets 7.62, ez clean and still a gray patch after the bursh. if i did'nt use the bursh then the patch looked ok and i thought i was done but then iran the brush down and then a patch to follow and it's gray again. any ideas on that?

Now you have got me interested - i'll go take mine apart and see what it says....

Nothing on the bottom of mine...

Left barrel flat says: serial number
Top Flat: for black powder only
Right flat: A Green Mt. symbol +50 cal LRH

That's it...

Mine has the Green Mountain Symbole and says .50 cal LRH on one side and the serial number on the other. Nothing about what you have. Mine is stainless steel. Is your rifle blued? Also perhaps my scope mounts cover something.

guys, it's on the bottom of the barrel. you have to take it off the stock to find it, right under the ramrod. yeah it's stainless. it says "licensed from E.R. Shaw, inc under united stats parent no. 6324789 and/or d426611"
does that mean that green mountain is using the Shaw patent?

also, how was in inside of your barrels? were they dirty when you got them?

Nope, mine still does not say that. When I got the barrel there was some grease in the barrel but it cleaned right out.

interesting. i checked two rifles, both LRH's, and they both say Shaw on the bottome of the barrel. they are maybe 2 or 3 years old.
