Default Pro Hunter owners???

I just took my new Pro Hunter to the range to sight in and I tried to use the T7 209 primers. The breech would close but the trigger would not pull back. I happened to have a box of Remington Cleanbore 209 primers so I tried them and the worked great. If you put both primers side by side you can see that the T7's are a little taller. Have any of you guys noticed this on your Pro Hunter's???

Match up a winchester w209 and its the same size as a triple 7 209. I was just looking at the 3 and the kleanbores are just a few hairs shorter and rounded off. I dont like the kleanbores anyway, i use CCI.

I use the 777 209's without any problem... I just close the action asI normally would, not too hard but with a little snap, and then check to make sure the hammer will come back prior to a hunt... after that it'stime to let the good times roll...

I just purchased a pro-hunter and am having the same problem with 777 primers. Once the primer is set in place the gun will close but not lock up and enable the hammer to be pulled back. I also had a package of Winchester 209 primers with me and they caused the same problem. Do any of you guys have a solution to this problem or has anyone heard from Thompson Center regarding this problem?

In have not tried the 777 primers in my Encore , I used them in my Traditions and my sons omtima and the blow by was horible , sowe went back to kleanbore primers . I hear a lot of negative about the kleanbores, but they have worked great for us . Never has a miss fire and i even dropped a box of them in a creek and everyone of them still fired . The Kleanbore primers have worked great in my new Encore . NO blow by at all , the back of the breach blug is spotless .

I use them in my Encore and have no problems . This will happen if the breach plug is not all the way down . It may be that the breach plug is not seating all the way down for some reason .
