Default No Moose 4 Us

The tags were thick and it was a good thing because the broth was thin. We hunted in rain from Sat-Tue and snow Wed-Fri with a smattering of high winds tossed in for poops and giggles.

Best chance was Wed morning when for a brief hour or two, the skies stopped dumping on us. The youngest member of our camp(new to moose and deer hunting) had a cow walk out in front of him. One shot was fired but we aren't sure where he was shooting because we trailed that cow for 300 yards and there was no sign of blood anywhere to be seen. We thinks it may have been a case of cow fever?????? 75 yards broadside standing shot. hmmmm...... He may have been thinking of the wrong girl at the time. lol, Youngster's!

Oh well. $hit happens. We had a few pops at his expense that evening. lol I never got the chance to unload the Omega on a moose this year...... there's always next year.

Other than the weather, it was a good hunt and good time for all. One young fella will remember it for sure. Which in the end, is what counts.

You had fun, you all made it back safe and sound, you made some good friends and memories, yep.. that's a good hunt. Moose meat would have just been a bonus.

Indeed cayugad, indeed!

Meat is always the bonus of the hunt. The memories of the young fella seeing his first moose and whatever else that was going through his mind at the time (lol) will last a lifetime (for us as well as him), where as, meat will be gone in a few months.

I loaded but didn't fire the Omega. Tomorrow will be my imaginary shot on a moose at the range. Let's say 75 yards.Off cross sticks held together with a bungee cord........ ahhhhh
