Default My hunting trip: part 1 (leaving)

I leave Friday to hunt the Adirondacks in northern New York - opening day is Saturday. This will be my 3rd year hunting with the ML, and I am psyched. My father is joining me for the 2nd straight year. I am trying to return the favor of being raised well by paying for the cabin and handling all the particulars. Our dinner Friday night will be rough camp food - lobster and filet mignon. I bought a good bottle of Glenlivet to help us sleep better.

I hope to post next week some good pictures of scenery, deer, and maybe a few grouse, woodcock, and other critters. You also might get to see a side-by-side comparison of the CVA Wolf (his rifle, shooting 80 grains of triple 7 and a 245 grain powerbelt) vs. the NEF sidekick (my rifle, shooting 95 grains of triple 7 and a 300 grainSTP).

Anyone else bubbling over with excitement?

Good luck hunting and camping with your father. Its a shame your "ruffing it" with simple camp food, but I am sure you will get by. That is as long as someone does not burn the filet mignon and over chill the Glenlivet malt scotchwhiskey.

I hope you get a chance to harvet with your Wolf.

Wouldn't be a hunting trip without a good single malt.
