i posted a while back about buying a traditions yukon in .50 cal. well i also got a t/c arms .50 cal flintlock from my grandfather. it doesn't say much just t/c arms cal50 below that, rochester, new hampshire on the right. on the left 79150. thats it. any ideas? i shot 80 grains of pyrodex rs with goex 4fg in the pan and a patched round ball at 50 yards. accuracy was good enough to kill deer, not too proud, i'm going to get some serious range time in the near future.
this was the first time i ever shot a muzzleloader, i've been reading everything i can and was hooked on ML's before ever shooting it. i still haven't shot the yukon because the flintlock was so much fun. i didn't have alot of time because i was with my dad, two uncles, sister, and her boyfriend and we were doingsome plinking with about 7 different handguns and a Hi-point carbine. AFter that died down i got out the t/c. I loved it.
the next trip to the range will find me trying some diffent loads and maybe trying to get a conical to stabilize.
How did the Hi point carbine shoot? Did it jam much? I have been thinking of getting me a pistol in .45 caliber made by them.

the hi-point functioned flawlessly, except for one time due to operator's error. my dad went to cycle a round into the magazine and did not let thebolt cycle forward, he kind of held onto it. he then pulled it back again and picked up a second round. dropped the magazine and one round came out cycled the action to clear the second round. easy to unjam. accuracy out to 50 yards was more than i expected and the ghost ring sightprovides a nice sightpicture. the guns are not pretty but they are functional, but they are inexpensive and have a life time warranty.
