Default Youth Muzzleloader

I know it ultimately comes down to what feels the best but are there muzzleloaders that are better proportioned for kids? I've got an almost 7 year old daughter for which I am planning ahead. She's already 4'8" and about 80 lbs. Just looking for something entry level. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

A Two Man Shooting Stand with a shooting rail, then the rifle weight doesn't matter as much. The
Sportman's guide, has a two Man Stand that holds 500lbs and a shooting rail for $89. That is a deal:

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=356189

Get acouple of these (one AM stand, one PM stand)andthen you can be right next to your daughter and she won't have a problem pointing the gun, because she can use the rail. If it is NOT high enough, get a shooting stick that is adjustable and wire it to the shooting rail or use a C-Clamp to hold it to the shooting rail.Prayer works best, butI suspect youalready know that by you signature! Amen for that also. May the Lord add a blessing to your plans for"Training up a child in the way he/she should go, so when he is old he/she will not depart from it". May the Lord bless you and keep you.

knight makes an excellent youth model. So does New England Firearms. My boy has a nef huntsman .243 with a .50 cal muzzy barrel. You can get this set up for around $300 or a nef sidekick for around $200 if you look around.

Thank you all for the advise. I just started muzzleloading last year so I'm pretty green. I've got a CVA Kodiak that worked well on the doe I harvested last year. What are your thoughts on a CVA Wolf? They seem to be a bit shorter?

Thanks Chap... Lord willing I'll have a hunting buddy... or three, I've got two younger boys too, but more importantly I pray that they do not depart from the way they should go. I'd rather have them love and serve Him than hunt..... but hunting would be a nice bonus

I would think that the Wolf would shoot well once you find the load for it. Whether it would fit a seven year old girl would be hard to say. Maybe take her to a store that sells them and have her shoulder one...

T/C makes a Youth Stock for their awesome rifles.

My Daughter prefers the feel of the thumbhole stock onher T/C Omega better though. However, my boys who are only 7 and 8 both want to shoot my Encore Pro Hunter with the Youth stock.

The 2006 Deer Creek catalog listed a Traditions Buckhunter Youth Inline, .50, blued, wood stock, 12.5 inch length of pull , $109, # R-40602.
Their phone number is 765-525-6181.
They also listed a Deerhunter Youth, same LOP,$179,which comes in .32, butyou can check about otherbarrel calibers.
