RE: Old Powder
Old powder is just that.. old powder. You never know if it went bad or not. Actually if you shoot it over a chronograph, that is the best indication if the powder does not compare in velocity to new powder. If the powder was stored properly it should be fine.
Fliers can happen for a lot of reasons. Powder being one of them. It is hard to say if that is your problem or not.
