Well, I had to run a 4 wheeler back to the Forest Service this morning and I thought as long as I was going out there - I would grab a rifle and get some shooting in also...
Took the resurected Renegade/Renegade (TC barrel) out to shoot it. This is a gun I had sighted in early in June, it was dead on to 125 yards... So because i was so sure it would shoot right - I stapeled a target on the back board set some clay pigeons out from 75 to 100 and placed the target at a 100.
It was a beautiful fall morning just a bit of frost on the pumpkin and a bright sun. Popped a couple caps to clear the fire channel pushed through a damp windex patch and popped another cap.... ready. I loaded the first shot up 80 grains T7-3f, shot card, and a .503/460 Bullshop. Decided to take the first clay pigeon on - even though i knew the first shot might be off a bit. The bullet hit the gravel pile - high/right - no big deal it was the first shot... Loaded and followed up with the second shot missed again high/right... Loaded the 3rd time - results the same... now I am really worried about this gun. So I decide to shoot the 100 yard target. Loaded up and touched off two shots both shots touching each other.... 4" high/ 4"right - I could not believe it. This gun was dead on 3 months ago in the heat of the summer, but this morning not even close. I adjusted the TC sight down 8 clicks... and left 8 clicks... next shot right heigth but still way right.
Brought the target into 25 yards - ran the sight left 12 more clicks and it hit @ 1:00... 8 more clicks left... Bang right on.... Then I went about shooting the clays pigeons... 1 shot one pigeon. I then found an8"quartzite rock @ 109 yards - shot it and blew it up - impressive cloud of dust.
Why - how the gun culd get that far off sitting in storage I do not know... Sure makes me want to go shoot the rest of the ML's I worked on this summer. The White is next it will be the first gun out for hunting season...
It is really getting close - hunting season

I have noticed the same thing sabotloader. They do shoot different in the seasons.

I notice sighting differences when I switch from shooting offof abench to shooting off hand. It thought that it mighthave more to do with cheek placement and the anglefrom whichthe eye views the sights.
I think a lot of the difference goes right back to barrel temp. Yesterday morning there was not even a hint of hot barrel. It did not even warm up that much at all. Of course during the summer that was a different story... and I, myself, have a terrible lack of patience to wait and let it cool... but then it really never cools to hunting weather temps...
I will shoot it again in a couple of weeks and see if there is a difference again. Really want to shoot the White as soon as possible to check it out. Gees! to may many guns not enough days...
