I posted this on another forum in response to a question by a newbie. Thought I might as well post it here also.
Operating on the principle that "too much is not enough", here's what I use.
The plastic box on the left is a tool box purchased from Home Depot for $10 or $12. The lid has segmented compartments covered by two clear plastic snap lids that hold very securely. It holds my caps, primers, breech plug lube, screwdrivers, jags, etc.
When you open the lid there's a tray that holds many items that are too long or large for the top lid compartments. This is where I keep my breech plug wrench, a bottle of alcohol, and solvent.
The space under the tray will hold half a dozen canisters of Pyrodex, Triple Seven and/or Goex, plus some bullets and patches. (I fill this section with and assortment pre-measured vials of powder in marked baggies.)
The canvas tool bag on the right is from Harbor Freight, purchased on sale for about $8. I use it exclusively for an assortment of bullets and patches. Right now it's full and weighs at least twenty pounds. It's absolutely the best thing I've found for carrying a bunch of bullets.
With these two, I could stay on the range for about three days straight.

There you go again Gander. You'd change your tune if you ever needed to borrow something from my purse, eh, bag - I meant bag!

to funny. I just my tool ring for my flintlock, keep that in my possibles bag and then take a tiny bottle of cleaning solution and patches in my shooting rest.
Possibles bag? Isn't that something like a purse???

Do you put a sling on that box and throw it over your shoulder when u go out in the woods hunting?
Nope! The topic was "range boxes". When I head to the shooting bench for a three or four hour (or all day) range session, those boxes go with me along with at least two guns. Sometimes three or four guns.
Woods hunting - a couple of bullets, powder vials and patchesin my pocket, and extra caps/primers. Don't need no stinkin' possibles bag!
