Okay, I'm planning on dolling-up the Knight Disc Elite 45 cal and make her the best ML she can be.I'm now scoping out scopes. I spoke to two different salesmen yesterday, one at Dick's Sporting Goods, and the other at the duck store (Gander Mnt.). Both advised me to purchase Nikon's ProStaff. For the money, and quality, you can't beat them. At least that's what I was told. No doubt, it is a really nice scope for the money IMO.
However, I had both salesmen to place a variety of scopes on the counter and played with all of them. Two that really caught my eye, were the Leupold vx 1 3x9, and the Bushnell Elite 3200. I really liked the Bushnell. It has a fast focus feature, plus it has a feature called FireFly. Both scopes run about the same in price. Whatever I buy is going have clearly see uncle buck at 200 yards with ease. Any thoughts or opinions? What are you guys using with confidence? Thanks.
There is not doubt that the Nikon series of scopes are great scopes and will serve you really well. However, I am in a rut, I started with one of the Bushnell Elite 3200's and I now have 5 of em... They have replaced my leupolds and the Redfields and whe need another I get another 3200.
The rain guard lens system if the seller for me... no scope covers needed in the rain or even light snow. The lenes a clean and clear.... And for the ML's I really do like their ballistic reticule. You can get them form "scopes n' more" for $237.00 and with the regular dual X for $179.00
There is knock on them so they tell me, the eye relief on 9x is only 3.3" - and gets bigger as you reduce power... but I am not a recoil conscious person so they really do not bother me.. but what a good scope.
Bushnell bought the rights to the Elite series form another major scope manufacturera fewyears ago but right now that fact escapes me, forgot who it was.
I had one "firefly" but I did not like it afre getting and re-sold it. The cross hairs were to large and when making long shots they blocked out to much of the view... just a personal thing with me...

I have two bushnells, a 4200x50 3x9 and a 3200x40 3x9. I like the 3200x40 better, it has the firefly and the raingard. The 4200 is the better scope for light, but for ML doesn't make a difference. Great scope for the money. Chap Gleason

Ya! plus they send you a pair of bushnell 8x21 binoculars - not great ones but not ALL that bad.... my only problem they are in southern Idaho and I am in northern Idaho - so not only do I have to pay freight - the stick me for Idaho sales tax also....dang!

I like the Nikon line of optics. All I use is a simple Nikon Pro Staff 2-7x32mm. It is a shotgun/muzzleloader scope. It has great eye relief. The clarity is outstanding. It can fall off a book shelf and not even flinch.[:@] (though I did). The parallex is set at 75 yards. For my shooting which is all under 150 yards and most shot under 50, this is all the scope I need. It has excellent light gathering ability. A life time guarantee. And was recommended by my gunsmith over many of the more expensive scopes. As he said, the Pro Staff go out of here like mad, but they never come back. Even in trades.
