Default Lobbing Grenades in the Rock Pit

First of all I need to get a couple of points straight....
1. Because of Semisane's rules -and I am not supersitious - just do not want to temp fate.... but, anyway trying very hard to bypass rule #1 - I decided instead of shooting the Remington - I would take the Renegade with the GM-LRH-SS 50 cal on it - that way what ever I did last time would not apply.....
2. Whom ever decided that more than 3 shots are necessary ina group to really prove something - and I have no idea what... Itwas either Dave or Yoeman - I hate cha! I could have been perfectly happy with my first three shots and moved on to centering it Left/Right.... naw! instead I said to myself "go ahead and prove you are macho -shoot a 5 shot group. Well I was really proud of myself throught shot #5 - then I thought...(mistake) - go get one more in then start the movement to the right...Shot #6 - THANKS! dang it!

The whole purpose of the trip was to shoot the new .503's I had just gotten from Dan. I have been shooting a .504. + the new mold is a little bit different than the old 460 mold so Iwanted to see if they shot the same. I forgot to say on the target that there was a .125x.510 shot card under the bullet.

For me with open sights this is about as good as I can do. As I look down the barrel the sights are in focus but the target is just slightly blurry @ 100 yards. I can see the "V" notch in the target OK but for me to line the front sight in the rear sight precisely each time and on the same place on the target is difficult. Just do not shoot open sights enough... gosh wish i could see like I use to...

Oh! after shot #8 - I got bored and went to shooting clay pigeons - I like it when the gun goes boom and somethen out thar breaks. A pigeon @ 125 yards and a gun rest stands no chance!

It was fun shooting though once I said the heck with Semisane's rules and the pressure of posting here...

100 yards and open sights.. that is some excellent shooting. Those big conicals really must have some down range energy with that big of a powder charge.

According to the ballistics...

muzzle- .75" energy 2278
100 0.00" 1608
150-7.65 1382
200 -21.331222

That kind of energy should do the job...

Nice shooting!
If you're busting clay pigeons @ 125 yards you couldn't ask for any better performance.

Sabotloader - so what is that? A 4" group of 5, or so? There ain't nothin' wrong with that. I'd guess if you shot that barrel for a few weeks I'd have to stop posting my sorry rounds. Nice shooting.

Do those Thompson fiber optic sights really have "clicks" when you adjust them? That must be nice if so. 1/4" per click at 100?

yeoman

If you throw out #6 - I think it is about a 3" group... OK now you have me interested.....

If you measure from #3 t0 #6 it measures 3.5" outside to outside... if you measure from #3 to #5 it measures 2.5" - I prefer the 3 to 5 measurement

Yes, they have both elevation clicks and L/R clicks. My GM barrel came with Williams sights - I took them off and installed the TC sights because I could adjust it with out guessing.

Here is a picture - I am not using that front sight, in fact I had to order a lower front blade from Williams to get the barrel up enough to throw those heavy artillery shells.

I never really knew the distance each click would represent but it does appear to be 1/4" per click @ 100.

Wow. Maybe you should give your scopes to someone who needs them!

I didn't see the pic of the sights, but do remember you describing changing them out.
They obviously work.
