Default Remington Kleen Bore 209 primers

Do they really make that much of a difference in the amount of crud in the bore?

I have not noticed all that big of a difference, but then again I do not get a bad crud build up in my rifles. I do like the way the Remington Kleenbore Primers ignite loose powder. When I shoot pellets, I then shoot Winchester W209.

I'd say the biggest difference is that on the breech plug area...easier to clean off when you're done shooting than with other primers it seems. The bore? If you're swabbing between shots you shouldn't notice a difference. If not, you might see some difference in loading ease for consecutive shots. I do when shooting APP powder. The primers make the crud of the loading so full power vs. KB or T7 primers can be noticeable after a few shots without cleaning.

I've tried about every primer available over the years, and can't honestly see much differance in any of them as far as the crud ring is concerned. Some rifles are bad to form a ring, and some aren't, and some powders are worse than others.

rem kleanbore 209's are a low temp 209 primer made for those who shoot 777 and dislike the crud ring that forms just above the powder at the bottom edge of the sabot, it really doesn't help for anyone who shoots BP or regular pyro.

They made a big difference in my omega. I swab between shots at the range but now I don't have to swab between shots which gives me a little more comfort if I were in the woods and the whole "second shot" scenario were to occur. I don't know if they made a big difference with the crud ring but my loads go down much easier. Tom

They do make a difference...but I don't have a problem with others either
