Default Platinum Powerbelts - Lube Skirts??

Last fall I got some of the new 338 gr. Platinum Powerbelts. They shot very well and very consistent with 2F Jim Shockey Gold. Today, I went out with the same gun and same load to confirm zero before season (which opens Sept 8th). Gun shot all over the place - some fliers were a foot from the previous shot. The only thing I did different from last fall was to take all the bullets out of the pack and lube the stem of the bullet where it goes into the plastic skirt - like we always did with the regular Powerbelts. Anybody have any experience with these new Powerbelts? Thanks. Roskoe

Went home last night. Took five of the 338 gr. Platinum PB's and pulled off the skirts. Cleaned the breech plug grease offwith alcohol. Decided to glue them back on with fletching cement. Went out this afternoon and shot a 3" group with open sights. I guess these new PB's don't like to be lubed like the old ones did.

JSG and lube of any kind usually don't mix... with that said, it is a heck of a good powder.
