They're ok. A bit out dated. It's a plunger than moves and strikes the primer. The MK-85 unless converted will have a #11 or Musket cap striker and plug. IIRC the current upgraded ignitions will fit it. I have a Hawkeye from the same era as the MK-85 and I converted it to 209 ignition.

A lot depends on the condition but 100-150 is a good starting point. Go a little higher if it's in excelent condition and a little lower if it's been through the ringer. Since you say mint I'd offer 150 and then work up a little. I wouldn't go over 200 though. As old as it is there's not much resale value in them. The old MK-85's are pretty common. I think only the Disc was made more. Also before you buy it make sure you see the breechplug out of it. Some guys stick the plugs and then try and sell them. If it's stuck pass. Check the barrel while it's out. If the rifling looks crisp and clean then go for it. If it's pitted or rusted pass. You also want to do this to make sure it's unloaded.
If it falls through I know where you can get one that's supposed to be unfired for $220.
