Default What to expect from Pyrodex to 777

I'm fixin to change from Pyrodex to 777, I'm shooting 295 grain powerbelt bullets with 100 grains of pyrodex pellets. What can I expect from this change? I shoot a CVA Eclipse 50 caliber with 209 primer.

Thanks
Chad

If you're shooting loose T-7 I'd drop back to about 70 grains and work up if needed. If you're shooting pellets I believe they are already reduced to be the "equivalent" of an equal load of BP or Pyrodex.

My CVA Staghorn Magnum likes 90 grains of Triple Se7en and a powerbelt. That is plenty hot for most things.

In case you are not aware, Triple Se7en in loose form is approximately 15% stronger then Pyrodex RS. So if you were shooting 100 grains of Pyrodex, they normally tune in with 85-90 grains of Triple Se7en. Of course a trip to the range is needed to prove all that.

Also Triple Se7en swabbing between shots can be critical for accuracy with some rifles. So it is like starting all over for you again. Good luck with your rifle and new powder.

80 grains should get you where you want. I use 80 grains fffg triple 7 and a 348 grain powerbelt in my winchester.

I got the Triple 7 pellets, will it shoot like the Pyrodex pellets? I'm going to test it out, I was just wondering ahead of time, encase I needed to go backwith Pyrodex.

Thanks
Chad
