Default weather / flooding

cayugad....are you in the dry area of Wisconsin or are you floating. Didnt realize they were getting that much rain! Same with Ohio. Still a scorcher here in Indiana.

To all who are dealing with high water; good luck and I am feeling for you. One of the worse issues to have to deal with.....God bless!

The northern end of the state where I am located is in a drought and the southern end is washing away. Lake Superior they was saying, was like two feet low. Now that is a lot of water missing somewhere. We sure could use some rain up here. About four days of nice slow steady rain is what we need. The woods are terrible they are do dry. I have a friend that works in the woods with a crew and they were told.. no smoking, etc. No sparks!!

The creek that runs through my property is normally five or more feet wide in the woods. During the wet season I have seen that creek thirty yards wide. I walked through my woodsthe other day and then realized I was in the creek bed. It was just muddy soil. So I might get in there and cut some cedars out since it would be easy to get the tractor back in there to drag them out.

I watched the news the other day and they were going down the street in boats in I think it wasOhio or Indiana. What a mess.

Northern Ohio is wet, but here in southwest Ohio it's still way too dry. We've had a few rains, but by the next day you can't find a muddy spot!

I dug potatoes yesterday, and the dirt is so dry it is like flour. No moisture in it at all. I was going down over a foot and still bone dry. Not something good mind you. Maybe we will be blessed with lots of snow this winter.

Here in NM we are familiar with droughts. Acouple ofyears ago Elephant Butte, the largest lake in the state, was down to around 20% capacity. I'm not sure you could have launched a boat if you wanted to. That year I fished several lakes that were anywhere from 20 to 40 feet below normal. They have mostly filled back up over the last 2 years but it still runs a boom/bust when it comes to moisture here in the high desert.

God bless all those affected by the flooding and droughts out there.
