Default Its that time of year again!

I just went out to let my dog inside when i felt that feeling. Cold air, wetness to the air, That soggy type of air that feels thick when you breathe in. I went and turned around and noticed that a cloud had dropped into our valley. Hunting season is here!

Whats everyones plans this year?

3 weeks to go before im loading up my truck and heading to the hunting ground.

My main goal is to keep my wife from kicking my scoped rifles of and messing up the sighting job off. Miss 3 deer with my 30-06 because of that.[:@]
I got a great place this year. going to set up for both early and late muzzleloader and rifle.

that does suck. However, there is an easy way to keep that from happening. Open sights! lol.

Open sight and glasses don't agree. I need the scopes to help me see past 50 feet when aiming. the worst part of all that, she did not till me that until the end of the season.

I just built a new home on the corner of 160 acres that my family owns. I have hunted the other farm for years because of it's wide timber stretches and river access. I think that this year I am going to take the .58 and hunt the old home place. I hunted there as a youth and I have lots of fond memories. Now that I live on it, it just feels like the right place to be. Bean field hunting this year.

It is that time and I'm pumped!!!! My plan is to shoot a nice buck by bow this year. If that doesn't pan out, I'll go with ML and blast whatever comes by that's half decent. The woods are all flooded out due to heavy rain but when it dries,. I'll be setting up my second treestand. I have one already on an acorn ridge that pays off every year. Last year Iused my tag on a doe and then was suprised to see a nice 8 pointer come in. That's what makes it fun though, but I'm not letting it happen this year.

I'm also going to SD ona pheasant hunt which I'm most excited about lately.

Have fun everyone and good luck to you!

I start bow on Mon. so I know what you are feeling. Though I will be hunting deer with bow, upland game and then goose before ML season I'm already pumped for it. I have a couple of spots that are ML and bow only even during the rifle season. Once hunters pull out their rifles they seem to forget about these non-rifle areas. Took a nice doe in one of these areas with my ML last year during rifle season so I think I will try to do the same again this year.

7 more days to go! Almost got my personal gear packed and ready. Need to go buy a tent and some odds and ends, pull out the gas stove and make sure its working right. I love this time of the year. Now lets hope we can find a nice sized cow elk! And 3 doe's.

I step outside and most days lately and the temps in the low to mid '90's, or raining . no complaints about the rain though , its been dry this summer .
bow season opens on 9 - 8 its gonna be HOT..but im going any way .thermacell in hand ,tee shirt in the ice chest ,stand on my back.
I await the comming muzzle loader season , rifle season , but i'll pick up the bow again in late december to take advantage of a local wma for the last 3 weeks of season .
if there was a sharp stick season , I'd get me a sharp stick

Good luck to everyone this season.............MIKE
