Default From TC's website per bore butter

Note about Sabots[/b]
T/C's All Natural Lube 1000 Plus Bore Butter was designed as a lube to be used with traditional patched roundballs (lube the patches) and all lead conical bullets like our Maxi-Ball and Maxi-Hunters.

If you are shooting sabots, DO NOT LUBE YOUR SABOTS. Sabots are designed to be shot right out of the package____DRY. In fact, you should remove any trace of Natural Lube, or any lube for that matter, from the barrel before shooting sabots. The less lube you have in the barrel when shooting sabots, the better, to achieve optimum accuracy.

When your hunting or shooting is done, and your rifle cleaned after shooting, re-lube your barrel with T/C's All Natural Lube Bore Butter prior to storage. Wipe down the outside as well. It's an excellent rust preventative.

I interpret this as consistent with what the dvd says that came with my omega. Sounds to me like a lot of people are misusing this product. Greg Ritz (sp?) essentially said he uses 2 patches of bore butter per year. One after sighting in before storage, and one after hunting season. He also goes out of his way to say remove any trace of bb prior to shooting again. And he never mentions coating the outside of the sabot. For people who shoot year round, I wouldn't use BB either, but for people that sight in > store > hunting season > store, I can't imagine that 2 patches of BB per annum would mess up accuracy. That is exactly what the dvd endorses...sorry, I did not want to clog up the other BB posts with this FAQ from TC's website

when used properly, BB seems to be useful...

Default RE: From TC's website per bore butter

Simplist insurance against any such substance left in the bore is to patch wipe the bore thoroughly with a few patches soaked with alcohol.
