sup - first off welcome to the forum. It is good to have you here.

A 1:48 twist will shoot sabots and conicals, and roundball also. You might have to experiment to find which sabot combination and powder charge to shoot them. Sabotloader shoots sabots out of his Renegade all the time and has real good results. I am sure he can comment and tune you to something that will work.

As for using Triple Se7en powder.. yes you can use it. Seeing that you listed this topic as a flintlock, I am guessing that is the ignition system you have.. I was shooting Triple Se7en the other day out of my flintlock with real good results. I had to duplex the load though and still used Goex as the pan prime to get good fast ignition.

Dump 10 grains of Goex 3f down the barrel first. Tap the butt of the rifle to level the load. Then load your Triple Se7en. That little bit of Goex you dumped down the barrel will act as a starter powder more or less, take the spark from the pan, give you good fast ignition and fire the Triple Se7en off.

You can shoot 777 in a flintlock if you put 10-20 grs. of real blackpowder in as a priming charge first, then the rest of the charge of 777.Only real blackpowder in the pan.My Renegade's and Hawken's don't care for sabots,I don't care for the plastic in the bore either. They shoot TC maxi-balls or Hornady great plains bulletswell though.

I will bet that ant no t/c barrel on your renegade either a douglas or sharon barrel. I can't see using triple powder in a flintlock stay with BP andenjoy making smoke.
Question since the gun is from the 70's t/c has improved on there hammer and vent liner do you have the upgrades.
I have a renegade from the middle 70's 54 flinter will drive tacks with 95 grains of 3F and a wad under the hornady 230 Grain patched RB on a good day I can clover leaf 3 shots at the 199 yd target from a bench.

Clover leaf 199 with a FL with Open Sights on the bench? That is a big wow, hard to believe, since when I shoot my FL that is hard to do at 50 yards on the bench. Chap Gleason

Got some aweful good shooters on this board. Much better than me or anyone I have ever shot with, including sabotloader.
