Default How much pain will it offer?

I finally recieved my 348 grain powerbelts for the .54cal mountain rifle. i was thinking 60 grains triple 7 for starters and then max out at 75. Any idea what kind of recoil to expect? I have really boney shoulders and am sensitive to these steel buttplates. I mainly just want to see how wellt hey will shoot @ 25,50 and 75 yards. These are all lead powerbelts so i also want to check and see how well they mushroom in a log.

I shoot the .54 caliber 405 grain copper plated hollow point out of my Trade Rifle with 90 grains of Goex 2f and I do not find it all that uncomfortable. I would think the load you mention would be actually mild.

FG

Think you might be surprised... because it is a 54 cal everything in the barrel is larger so there is more room for expansion and pressure. I would bet you will find the 60 grain 348 bullet rather mild.

WishI could get out and do some shooting - hot and working to much.

I'll agree with cayugad and sabotloader, I believe you'll find it fairly mild even with a 75 gr. charge.

I shoot 444 gr Black belts with 100 grs. of 777 in my .54TC Renegade. Before CVA bought them the company's name was Black Belt Bullets. They changed it to Power Belt.I don't think your CVA will take that much powder.Yes,it kicks pretty good.I can get 3 of them to touch each other at 75 yards.Their going about 1500 FPS. With 80 grs. of 777 you might get 1500 FPS or close to it with those 348 gr. bullets. My .50 Mountain Rifle the reciol is pretty stout with 370 gr. maxi-balls and 85 grs. of 2F Goex.
