Default CCI Magnum #11's

I just picked up a little can of cci #11 magnum percussion caps. Do these offer a little more flash to the powder? Also picked up some stuff for the .54 i have on the way and i saw these caps and figured i'd them a try on my .45 tomorrow. Anything i will notice when using them?

The #11 magnums are supposed to produce a little hotter flame, I believe. I've been using them for several years with no problems, but with the Goex BP I use I doubt if they're really necessary.

FG

They are definitly hotter than #11's, actualy they are hotten than a Musket Cap, but they do not sustain the heatas long as the Musket Cap.

Thanks for the info. I'll be trying these out tomorrow. I picked up a bag of 250 non lubed patches and then bottle of bore butter. I couldnt pass up 250 patches for $4.95. Now im sitting here with the minty smell of bore butter and doing one patch at a time lol. Smells like chewing tobacco now that i think of it.

Just finished firing 7 shots. first 4, they all showed up but grouping was horrible. Next 3 shots i tried a homemade ball and only 1 shot showed up. Im going to swab the rifle now and load up 3 more speedloaders but this time switch to a regular cci cap. If its still not shooting right, i'll know my patches aint worth a snot and buy some store bought.

Okay! Guess it wants a .015 patch and 60 grains RS for 100 yards. First shot wasa hang fire and went high, 2,3,4 were perfect. I like the magnum #11's, they seem to pack more punch.
Now its time to take the X-150 out and see if its still on sight.

Heres what the little .45 did today @ 100 with 60 grains RS, .440 round ball and a .015 patch. Notice all the blue tape? That was yesterdays shooting with .010 patches[:'(]
