RE: Options/suggestions 1x scope
There are a few scopes out there. Nikon 1X20mm, Sightron 1x20mm, Burris 1X20mm, Traditions 1X20mm, and Thompson Center 1X32mm. My friend who sells the Nikon's said they are the best of all of them. Although he sells Nikon. Also he said going to a bigger bell will not increase your light gather ability very much. He is probably right.
The reason I chose the Thompson Center was cost, warranty, and field of view. So far I have been real happy with the scope. I got it sighted in and it holds true so far.
I've also heard from other muzzleloader shooters that the Burris and Nikon are really good and clear. I looked at the Nikon close, but for the difference in money between that and the T/C I decided for a couple days hunting out of the year, I could live with the T/C. I have it on Warne QD rings, and switch it out between a Nikon Pro Staff 2-7 for the modern season and this T/C 1X for our muzzleloader season, where magnified scopes are also not allowed.
