Looks like an acceptable deer load and the bullets are pretty cheap ($19 per hundred from Midway). I use these in my 45-70 and know they perform well. Don't know how the groups will hold up at 100 yards and beyond because I ran out of orange sabots. Also want to give them a try with T-7.
Has anyone else tried the 458/orange sabot combo?

I have always wondered about those Remington bullets that I saw in the Cabela's shooting catalog. Whether they were like CoreLoks. Chap Gleason

I can confirm that the .458's fly well out of my in ML's. althought, I am not using that particular bullet.
I use these .458's for elk and shooting paper. For paper I use a regular old Hornady 300 grain HP, and for elk hunting I switch that out to a 300 grain Nosler Partition.
Here is a target shot from my Omega awhile back, you can see the accuracy is there and with the Nosler the penetration and expansion is there. The Hornady's would be awesome on thin skinned deer class animals...

I shoot the 405 gr Remington copper jacket flat point out of the Orange Kngiht .458 sabots. They shoot really good and I would hate to be on the receiving end of them. I also cast out of pure lead a very similar bullet that is suppose to weigh 405 grains but normally cast out at 423 grain. I think the mold is for the 45/70 and they cast out of a mix of lead and tin which would reduce the weight. These also shoot real well.

Hey SABOTLOADER, how come when I post a picture it shows up pretty small, and when you post one it's nice and large.
What are you doing?

I also discovered that about the Barnes and Nosler I have shot.. they like a powder charge behind them for some reason. Granted they will shoot fine with 80 grains, but they really shine with 110+ grains behind them. My Knight Disc really likes the powder if you want accuracy. For the longest time that Knight would shoot pretty good, but not as good as I wanted. Then one day I stuck three pellets in it and shot some shockwaves. WOW!! what a difference. At 70 yards I thought I lost one shot. All I could figure was the hole was the same.
I shot some 300 grain Nosler that I am sure were .458that Sabotloader recommended. While they shot really good, I hated paying almost a dollar a pop for them. I guess I am too frugal. So now I shoot my home casted ones. While they are not pretty, they are accurate and really smack down range.

Right click on your picture, then choose "properties" check -> Size on Disk all of my pics are resized to be about 70-90 kilobytes so that they will be up loaded by HuntingNet.
With that I also ask how are you up loading them? what are you doing?
SABOTLOADER, I'm working in KODAC Easyshare software. When I right click on the picture and choose properties, it gives me the picture's properties but no options to change them.
I have been saving the pictures in a "best for web" format because a regular save is too big a file for the forum format. The picture I posted is only 36KB. I tried changing it from "4 X 6 Portrait" to "8 X 10 Portrait" in the KODAC software, and then posting it, but that didn't change the size in the post.

I am somewhat familiar with Kodac Easy Share... I do not have it on any of my machines here but my daughter does and it seems to me that it was very limited in what it could do...
I use Microsoft Publisher v 3.0, but there are other programs out there that should work.
Your other option would be to log onto Photobucket... www.photobucket.com register in there and upload your pictures to that then upload from there to the forum....
