Default 150 yards with the 45 today

beautiful cloud covered day, a slight breeze to my back. I went and set up my box target at 150 yards back, shot it with the range finder and cameup with 153 yards. My first load was 60 grains T7, 225 aerotip bullet, undershot a good 3-4 feet. I figured, well these are heavier so i upped it to 80 grains, 2 shots and none showed up, 1 more shot, aimed low and hit a couple inchs high, Dropped the load down the 70 grains T7,aimed center on the black dot and a "bullseye" No swabbing between shots or anything. Im going to have to try this load at 50,80 and 100 yards so i know where it'll be hitting at those closer ranges. But shoot that felt great! The powerbelt skirts also started flying off with the little extra powder and came off the bullet 20 yards up target.

Now what do i do?!! Leave the x-150 @ home and take the flintlock and the 45? Ahhhhh! thats whats bad about owning so many rifles! Can never figured out which rifle to take. All i know is, if i have a good rest and a deer within 150 yards this year, Im going home with meat in the back of the truck. Only got 2 bullets to show up on the target but the last shot is the one that made my day and now i know where to aim, Dead center!
80 grains T7 and i'll be dead on @ 200-230 yards easily.

Yep that is a problem, I have found you will develop a favorite which you will use most of the time, the favorite will be because it is lighter or better scope or shoots more accurate or shoots huge conicals well or because it is beautiful (and you know what beautiful is by seeing some of the rifles on here). You will tend to use your older unscoped gun on rainy terrible days when it really gets soaked and beat up, and keep the beautiful scoped gun beautiful. That is my plan any way, I have a Knight Disc with fiber optic front sight and Vpeep rear for terrible days and a loner rifle. I have TC Omega as my main inline rifle. I have a TC FlintLock for PA FL season with a vpeep and fiber optic sight and I have a Savage 10ML for mylong range real open fields rifle, 150 to 200 yards gun.
