Arizona elk draw results

I don't know how many of you applied for a permit in AZ, but I thought I'd gleefully report my success. I was kind of hoping I'd get drawn for ML, but ended up getting archery cow again. Oh well, it'll be great any way. The area is up on the Mogollon Rim where I hunted two years ago. Could have shot several Bulls, but of course, had a cow tag. Drew back on one cow at 40 yards, but lost my balance and let down. I'm pumped and will have to get back to arrow flinging. I was looking forward to trying some 300 grain Gold Dots, but I guess it'll have to wait.

I also did not get drawn this year. Unfortunately I missed my cow last year as I had a great shot at a bull at less than ten feet. But I only had the cow tag and they were 150 yards away and moving. The bull almost stepped on me. Actually was quite tense as he was big and the rack looked nasty that close. I wonder if they would have bought that I had to shoot him in self defense?

Keith, did you put in for cow or bull? My hunting buddy has a theory that a lot of people didn't even know about the change in draw date, because 3 areas had left-over tags - two were limited opportunity, and one wasn't. Any way, are you watching the Bass Pro going up like I am? Looks like it's almost ready to open. Can hardly wait!
