Default Got it on sight!

I just got in from shooting the deercreek .45 and i decided to up the charge 20 grains for a total of 80 grains RS and my 225 grain powerbelt. First shot, 1 1/2" to the right of the bulls eye but center. Second and third were low, as always but grouped a heck of a lot tighter than my last outing. I always aim at the bottom of the circle and so the first shot is 2" high and the second/third will be dead on @ 100 if i were aiming at the center. I think i got it on sight and where i want it to be. Windy as heck out but it was towards my back. Hopefully tomorrow i can drop my x-150 off at the shop and have them mount my scope and bore sight it while i take off to the NRA with the .45 and give it a try off the sandbags. And if the shop has them, i'll buy a box of 285 grain great plains bullets to try out in the 45. But right now, with it shooting 2" high @ 100, i'll be about 4" low @ 150. May try charges of 90 and 100 grains and see how it will handle. Good day for the .45, i'll put up a pic later after i get back from giving it a bath.

FG

Sounds like a shooter, FG.
I saw the posts when you were building it, but never saw a pic of the finished gun. Did you decide on a dark stain or light. How'd you finish the metal finally, blued or brown?

Okay heres the target, marked. Now that shes all clean i can pack up my stuff for tomorrows shooting.

Mcawful, Heres the pic of the complete rifle, I went dark stain with Boiled linseed oil finish and i may adda few coats this hunting season of Birchwood casey gun stock wax. I did all the metal with a few coats of bleach and then oiled it. Takes a lot of work to keep it rust free, esp. after its bath but i like the color. Rifle looks lighter in the pics but is darker in person.
