Depending on the stock that is on an Omega they may be sensitive to removing the action and reinstalling it. My original (read more expensive) stainless Omega is difficult to get the same POI after removing and reinstalling the action from the stock. I have not bedded it but think I am going to have to do something as the change is more than I can deal with. Last year I sighted it just before the hunt and then missed a really easy shot. I rechecked the gun on a target and the impact had changed almost eight inches at 50 yards. NOT GOOD!!!! I can't believe that all that came from just removing and reinstalling the action but could find nothing else wrong. Scope was tight and has been reliable, it is a Simmons shotgun scope. Others have had similar results with the synthetic stocks on the Omega.
I have one and love it take it apart all the time and never had a problem with the POI changing. I shot 3 deer with it this season an one was 147 yards away

No matter what inline or traditional rifle you can afford, the rifle is of no value if it does not suit your needs. I've been hunting with muzzleloaders for close to 30 years now. I've been hunting with inlines for only three. What that tells me is, any muzzleloader in the right hands will get the job done. Even a traditional rifle if you know the limitiations of the projectile and powder, is all you need. Examine what you want the rifle to do. You might already own one. Although I am the last to tell someone a new rifle is not a lot of fun.
If you're looking for the Omega as a long distance shooter, then I would go with a better model Omega. Something with a more solid stock. Or consider the Z5 and then an after market stock to make it that much better. Actually I would hold off a little and look at the Triumph, although you are going to see Omega's come on big time sales if the Triumph is a hit on the market, and I do not see why it will not be.
While the Omega Z5 might be the bottom of the line in the Omega department, it still has the same quality barrel and other parts as the more expensive models. They saved money with the stock and the sights from my understanding. There are a lot of rifles out there, some of them will be good shooters, some terrible. Think about what kind of projectile you want to shoot, how far you want to shoot it, and at what. That will help you make your mind up also. I personally do not own an Omega. I have a Black Diamond XR that shoots so well, it would be hard for me to justify an Omega simply because it is a closed breech design.

Going off some of the things Cayuagad was bringing up. The Z5 is the lowest line in the Omega family. There are a few differences in this gun and the regular synthetic stocked Omega. Of course the barrel is blued, and some of the trigger assembly is altered and is not as easily removeable as the regular Omega,and on the the later models the fiber optic sights are different. The black synthetic stock is the same stock used on the SS Omega.
If you are purchasing the the Z5 for reliabilty and accuracy it will be there. If you are purchasing the Z5 for shooting everyday over and over again then I would step up to a regular Omega, other than that the Z5 is a good gun and it will hunt for you just fine.
With all that said I would not buy anything for awhile, when the new Triumph comes out the Omega will probably be going extinct because of the upgrades in the Triumph. There have been posts about the expected price of the Triumph and from most reports they will be certainly affordable.

I have the Z5 and love it. I can shoot 3 inch groups at100 ydsand much smaller ones at 50 with open sights.
For the money I think it's hard to beat as far as quality, reliability, and overall accuracy.I have no complaints with this gun.
I would look at the Lyman Mustang, Knight Revolution, NEF Sidekick, and definetely wait to look at the new Triumph. Once you've surveyed your options, you should be able to make a decision based on your preference. You sure won't be disappointed with the Omega however. Good luck.

Finaly bought a Knight Revolution II for $389.99 cdn
You be sure and let us know how that Revolution shoots for you. For some reason either they did not sell well or the people that bought them are closed mouth, but you do not see a great deal of discussion on the Revolution. As to how it handles, cleans, shoots, over all impressions, etc. I have seen them on sale and for some reason they always interested me. Guess I like Knight rifles...
