Default Ren 50 e-bay Barrel #1

The day was just to nice today... so I mowed the yard and put things away and asked permission to go shoot... mind you I did not have too, but sometimes it is nice to be humble...

Took the first barrel I got from e-bay out to the rock pit. I had just finished installing new fiber optic sights on it and I wanted to sight it in. In my mind I was trying to decide which if the two 50 cal barrels might be better.

Set the target @ 25 yards and took 3 shots... I was about 3" high & an 1" right. Good enough moved the target to 50 yards... first two shots - cloverleaf - then everything went to heck - I mean really bad - bad enough to be frustrating and the harder I tried to get things back in order it just stayed bad.... With frustration I moved that target back to 100 yards. First shot @12:00 - 6" high - I remember thinking Gees! at least I am on the paper, I really wish I had brought the other barrel with me.

I adjusted the sight down what I thought would be close to 6"- loaded up another 460 andgot ready to shoot again... again thinking I wonder where in the H_?? is this going to go. Well - surprise... 11:30 1" high - alllllright!3rd shot touching the 2nd shotOK!!! no pressure now get that 4th shot in there get a great group and never shoot that target again.4th shot - 12:30 -3" high -> Dang!...5th shot -> 6:30 - 1" low... frustration returning... 6th shot 12:00 - 2" high... enough of that... I want to shoot something I can bustrelease some anger....

I set up 5 clay pigeons on the rock wall and decided I would pick them off - 5 shots 5 hits - nothing less... First shot success - it shatter all over the place... then i though I need to get a picture of this to show you guys... with the four remaining pigeons in place... Second shot - bang by bye birdie.... Now the clutch shot the 3rd shot - I decided it would be OK because it was not at paper - success!!! it was all down hill from here easy shooting - no problem - Oh! and now i believe this barrel to be exceptional... can't sell this one.... Success is sooooo sweeeet...

Next week when I get the new sights for Ren 50 e-bay barrel #2 - I'll take it out and see how it does....

Here is the pic....

Did I miss it somewhere what you were shooting for a load? Anyway it sounded like you had a good day shooting and that's all that is important. Just getting out is the best part sometimes...

Gees! I forgot about what I was shooting... Still shooting conicals trying to find the groove...

I was shooting 460 grain NE's on top of the Nitro Card and 80 grains of T7-3f...

You knowone of the odd things today was that I actually saw the bird break on a couple of the shots.... the wind was blowing right across the barrel so there was virtually no smoke to block the view and I actually saw the bird shatter.... now that really makes me wonder how slow is that bullet? I actually thought a that big projectile traveling at 1500fps was fast but I really wonder now! especiallyif I am seeing it hit....
