Default knight KRB7 ?

Anyone seen, used or seen a review on the Knight KRB7 muzzleloader? Is it essentially the KP1 without being able to interchange other rifle barrels, etc. Other than maybe differences in the stock, it sounds very similar. Or is it different in other ways too. Thanks.

The KP1 is a break open and I think is a potential winner. The KRB7 is a rolling block (sort of a Revolution-type action from what I'm told) and I don't think the same.

KnightRollingBlock ----7? Wonder whut the other 6 were.

Since I learned a long time ago that your first impressions are gold... ( did you sell the Rem yet?), what are your first impressions of the TC's Triumph?

No, still have the Rem. Not pushing it too hard but have a prospective buyer.

The Triumph will bepopular in spite of $50 breechplugs. Non-adjustable trigger might be a problem but if the 3 to 3.5 lb claim is good - maybe not. Weather shield coating is another unknown but I expect it will meet most of TC's claims. Hinge pin looks small in the pics but action design may minimize impact of a small pin. I see no provision for cleaning the firing pin. Personally don't like the Omega-like hammer nor do I like QLA barrels but TC uses them in spite of my opinion.

But it will be a hit out of the gate and I look for it to claim most of what would have been Omega sales. The Triumph will be very popular with once/year shooters.

I expect and hope the Knight KP1will be a much better rifle.

Rolling Block

A lot of game has fallen for the rolling block. Now it's your turn.
In 1866, the rolling block rifle was the choice of serious hunters. Now, Knight has captured that rugged design in its new KRB7 muzzleloader and enhanced it with modern day in-line muzzleloading technology.
The Knight KRB7 is available in .50 caliber and incorporates a removable breech plug that accepts a 209 primer, without the use of the Full Red Jackets.
Like all Knight muzzleloaders, the KRB7 comes with a Green Mountain barrel, the most accurate barrel money can buy. Only Knight offers a guaranteed shot accuracy at 100 yards.

Compare the lines of that one with this one -

I don't like the hook shape of pistol grip but they don't listen to me either. I do think it is a much better looking rifle though. All of Knight's guns would greatly benefit from a second thimble and a ramrod that is better than the throw-away POS they put on them now.

The fact that both abandon what I've always considered to be a needless money-maker for Knight - the plastic jackets - is a major plus for both. If a rifle is correctly designed - it needs no such nonsense.

Both rifles have the rear sight positioned farther forward on the barrel than I think they should be... but again...

Knight has some sort of nostalgic effort going with their rifle's designs - I think it really gets lost in the shufflewhen you are talking laminates/synthetics/stainless steel. The KRB7 (like the Revolution) looks too much like me in the middle - bulky and out of proportion. Suppose they have to be that way (just as the Omega trigger guard has to be that way) to accommodate the action design.

I don't think the two rifles are in the same league. But again...

UC, I agree with most of what you have stated here except
about the rear sight, It should be farther to the front IMO
It gets you on target a lot faster.

Thanks for the info. I missed the break action vs. rolling block actions. Think I willl wait for the KP1's to come out and take a look. Anyone heard what they might sell for?
