Default perfect day for my pet load

It was 50 degrees today and time for some shooting!! I had a few XTP's lying around so I headed outside. The range was in disorder--the chair was frozen to the ground anda tree was down in the flight path soI had to move everything.

I've never been happier. I shot the Omega with 300 gr. XTPs, 110 gr Pyrodex, and Triple 7's for primers. I only had 5sabots so I shot 2 at 50 yds and 3 at 100.

At 50 yards I shot twice off the table and shot one bullet hole into the other. That was about a 1/8 inch group. Gotta be happy with that.

100 went just as well. I shot all three without swabbing. They all hit just left of center. It was a 3 inch group. That was confidence boosting.

I'm definetely getting that gun down. It was one great day!!!! I used a paper plate with a black circle in the middle for a target. It worked awesome. I think I'll stop buying targets now and just use them. They are super easy to see at long distances, which makes using open sights manageable.

If you'd like pics of the targets I'll oblige again. Good shooting to all!!!!

It sounds like you were having a good time and that's the important thing. Do you find your Omega fussy about the kind of projectiles it shoots well?

I wouldn't want to have been a deer walking through your shooting lane today!
Way to squeeze 'em.

Way to go youngblood, I also love those 300 XTP's for their accuracy and killing ability. Sounds like you and the Omega have come to an understanding.

The Omega doesn't seem too fussy. It likes the 110 grains but it shoots decent with everything I've tried. Those 300s shoot great in any TC I've tried them in. I certainly prefer the 300s over the light ones as far as grouping. The 250 grain Shockwaves didn't perform as well for me. My old Woods rifle would shoot every bullet thatI stuffed in her with ease. It, too liked the 300s so I'll stick to my best performer. I can't afford to test bullets anymore.I just bought a truck and new snowmobile and put money into them I don't have yet. I gotta use what I know works.

What other loads work in your Omegas? I'm interested to find new ones but can't really test any now.
