Anyone know much about the Mowrey muzzleloaders? im looking at a .50 for $270 in great shape with a barrel that has just been rebrowned. Just curious at how well they shoot and what will they shoot good? balls/ conicals?
I be interested in it if you pass on it.
they were made in texas all have rb barrels looks like the one in the picture has a steal frame not brass and if the barrel has no rust or pitts it a good deal, they also came with a nice walnut stock
Im gonna take it. I just got the pics of it and its to nice to turn down. Going to put some stuff on ebay and she'll be mine.... If its still available!
Actually it reminds me a lot of todays break open inlines like the elite pro, wolf, encore and the optima. Only the inlines have a higher built cheek piece. The guy said it will hold 3" groups at 75 yards with PRB, but im sure it will do a lot better in the right hands. We'll just have to wait and see.
I have two of these with the brass reciever. One is a 54cal, and the other is a 36cal.
Both have brass funiture and what appears to be curlly maple stock and fore arm.
They both shoot very well with round balls. I have not tried conical as they are both 1:66 twist.
I have only seen one other Mowery, and that was at a gun show. It had a metal fore arm. The dealer wanted $450.00 for it but I was not interested in the looks of it so I left it with him.
