Default bore lube

Would Rem Oil work OK after cleaning my ML bore for storage. There is no gun shops in my area and I'm at the mercy of Walmart and Rural King which is a farm store that sell alot of ML stuff but I didn't see any bore lube specifically for ML's. Other option is order from Cabelas or Bass Pro. Is there a certain brand you all like if I order online through Cabelas or Bass Pro? Thanks

remoil works great, thats all i use. Spray your patch down, work it in the barrel and then let it sit for a couple minutes and then run a dry patch down to soak up and excess. Never had any rust in my bores with it.

Rem Oil w/ Teflon is a great product. I used that for years on my firearms and fishing reels... Good choice.

I use the Rem Oil for all my guns. Just started the blackpowder experience and it's getting the Rem Oil treatment, too.

I recently got into ML shooting also & On a similar note, can anyone advise why regular gun cleaning solution such as Hoppes cannot be used on ML's?

Equal parts of Murphy's Oil Soap, Hydrogen Peroxide and Rubbing alchohol. This stuff is inexpensive.
Reinactement shooters have used this for many years.
Soak the barrel in it by using a plug, or drop your dirty parts into a bowl of it. It will remove all black powder, Pyrodex, Triple Seven, etc. Wipe and dry thoroughly, then useRemoil or Tri-Flow (which is 10 times better than Remoil)on all parts.

Edit:Ed, I try to stay away from chemicals that contain Ammonia. Ammonia causes pitting on metal. Also you have the Plastic build up from shooting Sabots. Any Shotgun Choke cleaning solutionwill work, but this is the one I use.

I guess one of the reasons I like Sheath is thatyou don't have to clean it out every time you want to shoot and I also live in a small town in the sticks with out much other places to get stuff exceptat the second from the poorest Walmart I ever seen. Lee
