Default Ghost ring sights

I was just wondering if anyone uses a ghost ring rear sight? I just put mine on and the right side fiber optic is up higher than the other side. Normal or screw up?

Hope to do some shooting with the ghost sight tomorrow and see how it does. I deff. like the idea, nice big clear picture when you aim at a target, it doesnt cover the whole thing.

I don't quite understand, a ghost ring and it has fiber optics? Do you have a picture of it? A ghost ring is a circle you look threw to see the front sight, if there are fiber optics are they side by side and you place the front sight between the two rear ones when you sighting the target. Just trying to picture what you have. If it is a side by side fiber optic and one side is higher than the other then something must not be right.

I thought the idea of the ghost ring was to disapear when you focus on the front sight. That is the idea of the "ghost ring" I have one on a center fire rifle in 7mm 08 and I can shoot 1-2" groups at 100yrds with it your sight looks interesting youll have to keep us up dated on how it works.

WOW!! that is a neat idea, but I wonder what the real use of it is? When I shoot ghost ring, to be honest, I concentrate on the front sight only and the eye will naturally center the ghost ring for you. Like said, I hardly even notice it.

I do like the idea of the fiber optic dots on them. It could make some accurate range work.

I tried these awhile back. The normal "ghost ring" setup is a Williams receiver sight with the aperature unscrewed. It is surprising how well one can shoot with a peep this big. Eventually, I went back to the aperature and bored it out to 5/32". With this rear sight and a green fiber optic front sight, I can shoot in lightas low as the law will allow.

I FREAKIN LOVE THE GHOST RING! I went out with my home made sabots in .44, 240 grain, 90 grains RS, first 4 shots were to get it sighted in at 25 yards. I taped all the holes up and took 3 more shots at 25, went in and cleaned it, turned the box around with my cleaner target, fired 3 more, Put a new target on, set it up at 50 and my first 2 shots were touched, my third shot at 50 yards i flinched and messed it up but wow! This ghost ring is awesome. I dont use the fiber optics on the rear sight, but i did make a mental note of how high my front sight was over the 2 optics and its half an optic higher than the 2, puts me dead center in the big ring. Im really loving these sights, I shot a best of 1" groups with the other rearsight at the NRA off of sandbags and the 385 great plains bullet, I can EASILY see 1/2" groups off sandbags with this new ghost ring! I love being able to see my target and not have it all covered up. Im glad i decided lastnight to mess with these. Im a little to far to the right but i will double check when im able to shoot at the NRA off sandbags, it may just be movement so i want to check first off a steady rest.

The orange dot target is with Remington cleanbores, #3 shot thats out of the big hole was a hang fire [:@]. All others were taken with federal 209s.

This is my first target i shot at below with the federal primers: 20 yards

#2 TARGET 20yardswith Remington Kleanbore: 3 shots. Below.. The shot to the right that looks bigger is 2 bullet holes. Be great if all the primers were consistant!

#3 target and this is @ 50 yards shooting off a fence line: Circled shot at the top was my flinch [&:]

Truglow Ghost ring.

Ignore those dots - better yet, get some flat black airplane model dope and paint over them.A big-hole peep rear is built that way so the rear sight can be looked through and otherwise ignored. Focus on the front blade.....

From your picture, it appears that your rear sight is a long way up the barrel from your eye. Is it? If so, the whole idea of a "ghost ring" is being ignored by the setup...... It should be as close to your eye as you can get it without risking having recoil jamb it into your eye......
