I'm thinking about getting a muzzleloader pistol to go along with my Plains rifle.A Plains Pistol from lyman would be nice but I found a cheap one on gun broker. What do you think of it? It doese not have a wedge pen. Also, what caliber do you think, 50, or 54?

I have had a lot of them,the two I really like are the Patriot and the Rugar black powder. If you are going to consider using it for deer check your stste law on the caliber and barrel length. The patriot was accurate to 100yds the Rugar will keep a 3 inch group at 50yds most of the rest I had were not very accurate. Lee
I have a lyman pistol in 54 cal bought the kit shoot rb great the range it about 50 yd max I have mine sighted in to 35 yd with open sights 530 rb and 50 gr app 3 inch group off sand bags fun gun I highly recommend it
