Default Ignition conversition for 209's

Are there ignition conversions availableto change 209's to #11 or muscket caps?

Thanks

Will not help you with the Idaho rules... either the old rules or the new ones.... the breech area must be open.

But, to you question I do not know of any conversion to move from the 209 to caps. The guns you mention are set up with a firing pin. I really do not think it would be difficult to fashion a cap breech plug for them but the firing pin would not reliably set off a cap if it set one off at all.

I machined a new firing pin the correct size for Musket caps.
Adapted a spring for the new firing pin.
Removed the action bushing for the firing pin and bored it to match the new firing pin.
Installed a 51# hammer spring.
Drilled and tapped the breech plug to accept a Musket nipple.
Drilled and tapped a hole in the top of the breech end of the ML barrel.(exposed to the elements)
All these changes can be brought back to original condition by replacing the modified parts with original equipment part. The hole in the barrel can be dealt with, with a threaded plug.

I took it out and shot it. It works. It is an Encore ML that is legal for Idaho. [/align]

Wownice gunsmithing. Is it accurate? You just created a new Encore Idaho!

I still have the final load development to do. I am hoping to get an accurate load for the TC 370 Max's. It was a fun project and learning to heat treat the firing pin was a new experience for me.
I would not have wanted to pay a real gunsmith to do this for me cause I had about 6 hours in it and am not done yet.
Thanks for the accolades.
