I have an Omega Stainless in 45c. that I love. It shoots a 250gr. SW extremely well, but, it is very hard to load the Shock Waves. I bent the ramrod once.
I shoot 2 - 777 pellets and tried the American powder and it makes no difference. The 2nd shot is almost impossible to load.
Is this typical w/ the 45c or is it the Shock Wave???
The problem is there just is no set standard that says a .50 caliber will be this dimension and a .45 caliber that. The dimensions of a bore can vary between brands and even rifles on the same assembly line.
It sounds like you have a tight bore. Try some crushed rib sabots or some of the MMP HPH-24 if they make them in .45 caliber. That should help with your loading problem.

I did not know they madea 250 grain SW for a 45 cal gun... The ones that you did shoot were they older ones or the new ones with the new super glide sabots?

You have two of the best sources of information responding to your post in sabotloader and cayaqad. If u will feed them the symptons I bet they will help u solve your problem. I have found them to be on top of the ML game.

No, They don'y offer the Super Glide in 45c. I checked w/ every supplier.
I'll try the HPH-24's and see what I get . Another friend of mine told me that bores are not standardized in ML's as cayugad mentioned.
What do u think if I would shoot a bunch of lead conicals out of it?
I was told to try that, but it didn't seem to me that shooting a conical would do anything to the bore.
I guess i was wondering... MMP makes the super glide but is is contracted to TC so thay can not resale it...
I would suggest you call MMP ( www.mmpsabots.com ) and talk to Connie about your tight bore problem - she might pass you right on to Del and he really might have the answer for you.
Again as much as I would like to help you - I just do not shoot a 45 cal nor do I have any good answers.....

Well actually that might help your barrel - smooth it out some. I shot a bunch of powerbelts out of mine and I hate PB's. I can not tell you that it did any good but it did not hurt it either.

Idon't know what to tell you. I can load mine like six times and still load easily without the bullet starter--just the ramrod. Mine's a .50. I guarantee you that all bores are different sizes because the difference in my two TC's is obvious and they're both .50's. You could try a different bullet size or just swab every shot.
