Default MP sabots sources

Where r u folks getting your MMP sabots. I did order some from Connie at MMP but I read somewhere that u could get them for less than $10.75. The price is not unreasonable but being retired on a fixed income every dollar saved is a big deal.

I didn't know about the discount. Looking around at the different sites it doesn't seem to be much of a difference in price.I will just order some more from Connie.

Do those 3 petal MMP sabots make it easier to load the second shot? Using T7 I do have to clean after every shot with the Omeaga or I have a very hard time loading the second shot. In all honesty in my cases the second shot is hardly ever a big deal. Either I made a good shot or the game is gone.

They do go down easier than the HPH-24's - I use to havea 3p set up in my speedloader for the second shot just in case I need that really quick second shot...but have since just gonewith the 24.

Asking another dumb question, I am intersted in your fouling after the first shot. As you know I use T7 also but I really do not have the fouling problem that it sounds like you are having. I can load 3/4 shots wtihout having to wipe the bore... but back to your barrel, when you put your second sabot down where do you start having fouling problems... is all the way down the bore? at the beginning, in the middle, or at the end?

Actually it is just as I start pushing the sbot down the barrel. Once I get it started I can seat the sabot but not real easy. Do u use the MMP 24 for every bullet u load? I did get some of them but I have not tried them yet. It sounds like I may not need the 3 petals.

I do use the 24 all the time...

The tuff loading at the beginning is partly the fault of the QLA.... one thing you might try if that area remains the tight point and you need to reload rapidly for a second shot... just before you put the sabot/bullet combination in (this is gonna sound dumb) spin on you tongue to get get the bottom portion of the sabot damp with saliva - do not get the inside of the cup damp just the outside a little bit... when I am target shooting I do that all the time and then I place the sabot in thebarrel with a petal directly under the front sight - that way the whole thing goes down the same way every time.

You are not having the big "crud ring" problem that some experiancedown in the breech area? Thats good if you are not. and as for the end of the barrel try the damp thing if that works... the next step is to get Cayugad to walk through his steps of polishing the bore with JB's - I do it for my bores on occasion - but he has a lot better explanation...

I read sabotloaders post where he mentions that u have a process to polish the bore using JB. Is that the polishing compound or the bore cleaning compound. I believe JB has both. I have some of the bore cleaning.
