Default Bore Butter or Wonder Lube

From my previuos posts yoy might have gather I am trying an experiment with swabbing between shots with presaturated bore buttter patches. I am trying to find the locally and ran across Wonder Lube patches. What the difference, they smell the same.

WL and BB are close to the same but not exactly... WL will dry to a semi tacky film while BB does not. That has been my experiance...

The bottle of WL I have here in front of me does not list any ingrediants other than it is all natural....

Do you mean swazbbing between shots with a bore butter patch? Sabotloader do you do that? When I WAS a bore butter user, I would swab the stuff out of the barrel before loading, but never swab with it when shooting. I guess each to their own. Let us know how it works and if you get hangfires and misfires.

when i used borebutter, i'd always swabbed that stuff out before shooting. But swabbing with it between shots? That stuff is going to hold all the powder from going down the barrel. When im shooting my flintlock i'll dope up a good amount on the patch and run the load home and fire, that seemed to keep the fouling down, but im not to certain i like this swabbing between shots thing with BB.

No I do not, I am thinking that swabbing with BB or WL between shots is really not a good thought.... The ONLY reason I can think that one might do that is to get the projectile down the barrel easier... but I fear that it could cause a problem with a sabot slippying over the lands vs. grabbing them + the problems that you mentioned especially if the load is left in the barrel for a length of time (hang fires/ mis fire). But what the hey if it works for him and he has confidence - great... For me I would spend to much time worring about it... I'm the one that worrys about the lube on a conical contaminating part of the load over a period of time...

Worked well for the only 4 shots I took. Weather has not let me shoot anymore here in Michigan. I have about 10 Bore Butter patchesthat came with a kit. I don't think they could leave any extra in the barrel. The patches didn't have that much on them. I have some concerns myself. Some of you guy"™s thoughts are also valid. I am thinking March would be a good month to test as the weather is close to hunting season.
